Personal Experience
Moniqua Scott was born and raised in Lufkin, Texas. Determined to make her mark, she pursued her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Communication at Texas A&M University, graduating in 2014. Her deep love for people and passion for justice led her to South Texas College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2020.
While in law school, Ms. Scott sharpened her courtroom skills as a member of the Mock Trial Advocacy Team, competing nationally in Syracuse, NY. She was also an active member of BLSA and participated in legal clinics that gave her hands-on experience serving the community.
Following law school, Ms. Scott built an impressive foundation in trial work. She served as an Assistant District Attorney in Harris and Montgomery Counties for nearly four years, gaining extensive litigation experience. She also worked as a criminal defense attorney in Harris County, learning to see cases from both sides of the courtroom. These years taught her not only the art of advocacy but also the importance of persistence, preparation, and compassion for every client.
Today, Ms. Scott brings that same determination and trial-readiness to family law. Whether negotiating settlements or preparing for the courtroom, she stands ready to fight for her clients’ rights and protect what matters most. Her guiding belief is simple but powerful: “There should be nothing about us without us in it.”
Outside of the courtroom, Ms. Scott enjoys spending quality time with her daughter, traveling, trying new foods, and expressing her love for music through singing and dancing.
At Mokolo Law Firm, clients can trust that with Ms. Scott by their side, they have an attorney who is not only compassionate but also fearless in the courtroom—ready to advocate, negotiate, and, if necessary, take the case to trial.
